Description:
Join our expert panelists who will discuss new issues, cases and methods to address tax debt using the powerful provisions of the Bankruptcy Code. The panel will first address the rules and cases concerning the discharge of taxes in bankruptcy for the new practitioner or the experienced attorney looking for a refresher course. This will teach you how to identify the different taxes are owed and to apply the code and rules to determine if they can be discharged or impacted in the different bankruptcy chapters. In addition, the panel will discuss more advanced topics including changes to tax law in the CARES Act and the most recent status of the case law concerning late filed returns.
In addition, the panel will discuss methods to address taxes outside of the bankruptcy context including OIC, Extensions to Pay, Installment Agreements, etc.
