Save the Dates: December 1st- 4th, NACBA in Hawaii
Dear #NACBALA Participants and NACBA Members,
We write to inform you we have made the tough decision to cancel NACBA’s 28th Annual Convention, April 30 – May 3, 2020 in Los Angeles, California. As travel and community restrictions continue to unfold and with the recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the state and federal government, this is the most responsible decision. We also trust you understand our timeline given the evolving CORVID-19 pandemic and contractual liabilities.
While we are disappointed, the health, safety, and well-being of community comes first.
NACBA is carefully monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation. Like many, we are hopeful for an effective solution in the near future. In the meantime, we are pleased to announce that NACBA’s 2020 Members-Only Workshop, December 1 – December 4, 2020 at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa in Koloa, Hawaii will be transformed to a convention / workshop hybrid atmosphere. The planning committees for both events will soon meet and discuss a blend of dedicated bankruptcy learning tracks, plenary sessions with special attention to ethics and an engaging sponsor and exhibitor experience all with the backdrop of Hawaiian paradise. Registration is expected to open on or about Monday, April 20th, 2020.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is an award-winning hotel on an island of unparalleled beauty. NACBA Members and partners will enjoy a $219 per night rate at this exceptional 4-Diamond Hotel. Between now and December, we anticipate extremely aggressive travel pricing and already in place change and cancellation flexibility. All registration (attendee, meal, special event) exhibitor and sponsor fees can be automatically deferred for use at this event.
If attending this business deduction, bucket list experience in Kauai is not possible, all refunds (registration, meal, special event, exhibit and sponsor) from the 28th Annual Convention must be requested by Friday, April 10 no later 5:00 PM Eastern. As a reminder, all participants are responsible for canceling their own lodging and travel reservations. For those with reservations at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, you may have already received cancellation notice. We wanted to ensure this refund notice for attendees as soon as possible from the hotel.
This is a trying time for our profession, and NACBA is here as a resource to help. We are developing regularly updated content and bankruptcy practice professional development via webinars to help you navigate this time for your business and your clients. If there are any specific topics you’d like to learn about, please let us know.
We thank you our members and partners for your patience, understanding, and for all that you do. It is your passion for the profession that makes NACBA events a success. It is the same passion that will drive us into the future as we look to gather in Hawaii as an exclusive opportunity for the debtor bar and supporting partners to come together in 2020.
