NACBA’s 15th Annual Convention, held April 20 – 22, 2007rnin Philadelphia, drew over 1,000 atttendees, 35 exhibitors, and over 100 exhibitor staff. Presenters included, among others, the Honorable: Jean FitzSimon (Philadelphia PA), James B. Haines (Portland, ME), Jr., J. Rich Leonard (Raleigh, NC), Thomas Waldron (Dayton, OH), Judith Wizmur (Camden, NJ), Eric Frank (Philadelphia, PA), and Marilyn Morgan (San Jose, CA) and Law Professors Marianne Culhane (Creighton University), Michaela White (Creighton University), Margaret Howard (Washington & Lee), Alan Resnick (Hofstra), and Peter Rubin (Georgetown).
Because turn-out was so excellent and because NACBA membership has almost doubled since the Convention site was initially reserved, space was tight in our sessions. This, however, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of our attendees and everyone pitched in to make room for colleagues.
A few Convention highlights:
- First-ever State Chairs breakfast. Members had the opportunity to discuss the issues of concern in their states, to coordinate their efforts to pursue legislative changes at the state level, and to meet with their State Chair.
- Keynote speech by the Honorable Thomas Waldron, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Dayton, OH.
