NACBA Announces New Web-based Tools to Support Advocacy Efforts
The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA)
announced today that it has completed the first phase of its plan
to upgrade the organization's Web-based tools to advocate for
consumer bankruptcy protection and enhance the practice of consumer
bankruptcy law. This phase of the plan includes modernization of NACBA's
Web site and enhancement of information available to NACBA members
and the general public.
"Our goal is to make our site the premier informational resource for those fighting destructive creditor-sponsored legislation in Washington," said NACBA President Matthew Mason. "For the last ten years, NACBA has been a leading force in countering the consumer credit lobby's efforts to erode federal bankruptcy protection for consumers and small businesses. We know the fight will continue and we need to be ready."
The new site provides regular updates to members about NACBA's activities, as well as summaries of the latest news about matters affecting legislation and the practice of bankruptcy law. The site also makes available to the general public for the first time a large number of amicus briefs written by the organization over the last seven years to support consumers' rights in important appellate cases affecting bankruptcy.
"In future phases we will build a database that provides the public with detailed information about bankruptcy attorneys all over the country, and create a state of the art collaborative work environment for our members to develop strategy, share best practices, and work collaboratively on legal briefs, articles and advocacy," Mason added.
NACBA's Web address is www.nacba.org.
