Member Directory. Members can also be listed
in the national NACBA directory, sorted by city and state, complete
with links to member web sites. This site is open to the public and
contains information about each firm, as well as a photograph of the
firm principal, if desired. Consumers who are searching the Web for
a consumer bankruptcy attorney should find this an easy way to locate
an attorney near their home or business.
Professional Information. The members
only section of the NACBA website contains a wealth of information
that supports bankruptcy practice, including a document resource
center where NACBA members have posted pleadings, sample letters,
forms and articles that will support and improve your bankruptcy
practice.
Discounts. Members enjoy a discounted rate
for the NACBA Annual Convention and Educational Conference. This conference
is held in the Spring of each year and features over 13 hours of Continuing
Legal Education on topics solely devoted to consumer bankruptcy law.
The Annual Convention typically includes sessions on recent developments
in the law, ethics, tax and law office management and also addresses
the cutting edge issues of the day, ranging from credit reporting
and scoring to attacking mortgage servicing claims.
Legislative and Judicial Advocacy<. NACBA
members enjoy the benefit of being a part of the only national organization
for consumer bankruptcy attorneys that advocates for consumer debtors
and their attorney counsel in Congress. NACBA members testify before
Congressional committees as well as provide technical assistance
to members of Congress on consumer bankruptcy issues. NACBA also
advocates for the consumer debtor bar and our clients in a variety
of other forums or groups, such as the Bankruptcy Rules Advisory
Committee of the Federal Courts, the Executive Office of the United
States Trustee, the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees
and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
