On July 27, 2011, NACBA President William Brewer testified before the House Judiciary Committee on the issue of “Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee Responsibilities and Remuneration”.
This was an oversight hearing to explore the issues; legislation has not yet been introduced.
NACBA’s testimony stated that that while NACBA supports an increase in the compensation for Chapter 7 Trustees, the increase must be paid for in a way other than increasing the filing fees for debtors. Click here to read NACBA’s full written statement.
